Garden Tractors

| Collection-free
cutting, the way for the future |
Mulching
is very popular in the USA, but has taken time to establish in Britain.
Tackling our dense, fast growing and often wet grass needed a cutter
especially developed for our conditions. The new Westwood Mulching
Cutter is the answer.
Using three cutter blades to lift, hold and cut the grass again
and again and again, the Westwood Mulcher reduces cuttings to minute
particles which are then returned to the roots of the turf.
 |
With
regular cutting and the right conditions, you can avoid
collection altogether.
The balanced view of Mulching
Mulching may be the ideal cuting method for you and
your garden. It depends on your grass and how regularly
you can mow. It works best when you remove not more than
1/3rd of the height of the grass grow long or if you want
it cut very short. Ask your Westwood Dealer and he will
advise you.
|
|
| These
are the reasons to choose the Westwood Mulcher |
|
No
stopping to empty cuttings
Cut regularly and you can reduce your mowing time by about 15
minutes in every hour.
No cuttings pile in your garden
Collected cuttings are a mixed blessing. If you do not use them
as a mulch for shrubs or as a valuable source of compost, they
can become an unsightly and growing pile in your garden.
Greener grass?
In the right conditiond, healthy turf will absorb and feed
on Mulcher cut grass. More often cut and collect is the optimum
way to keep a healthy close-cut lawn. Ask your Dealer's advice
about what's right for your garden.
|
THE
BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
With Westwood you can combine collection
and mulching
Do
you want a handsomely striped lawn and the flexibility
to occasionally let the grass grow a little too long?
Do you want a turf health enhancing brushing while you
cut?
Do you want to quickly and effortlessly collect fallen
leaves?
You can have all these AND the time saving benefits of
mulching, if you buy a Mulcher Tractor and use it with
a Powered Grass Collector.

Power
Collection - the best for a tradditional British lawn
Cutting and collecting
is the tradditional way to produce the world renowned 'British'
lawn. And the striped effect, which is 'de rigeur' in a country
garden, can only be produced by a mower with a roller or by a tractor
fitted with a Powered Grass Collector.
The balanced view of Powered Collection
The Powered Collector has always been the best way to collect grass
cuttings and this new Westwood collector is lighter, more efficient
and easier to connect to the tractor. We expect most British gardners
to continue to choose to 'cut' and 'collect' grass on the traditional
lawn. When cutting longer grass in an orchard or paddock the Powered
Grass Collector is also most useful when fitted with a deflector
blade to disperse cuttings evenly and neatly. |
The
reasons to choose the Westwood Powered Collector:
Cuttings collected in any weather
The Powered Grass Collector
uses brushes driven by the tractor's engine to sweep your turf, collecting
cuttings while you mow.
Unlike the traditional cylinder
mower it works just as well in the wet as in the dry. Cuttings are
collected completely and the brushes rotating against the forward
motion of the tractor, pack them in so efficiently that you can collect
290 litres before emptying the grass box by simply pulling a lever.
The
only way to get a striped finish from a tractor
The collection height of the
brushes is set by a rear roller - adjusted just a little higher than
the cutter. This roller also produces those desirable stripes.
Brushing
is very good for your turf
Rotating brushes do much more
than simply collect cuttings - they are the real secret of how to keep
a big lawn healthy and handsome. They lift debris, disperse worm cast
and inhibit the accumulation of damaging thatch.
The
fastest way to collect leaves
The Powered Collector is also the very fastest way to collect fallen
leaves in the autumn or to collect garden debris and litter at any time
of year.

AN OPTIONAL 38" MULCHER
CUTTER IS AVAILABLE FOR
ALL T SERIES MODELS
|
The
Westwood T Series with Twin Cylinder Engines
|
T1600
This Tractor Mower has the great advantage
of a smooth running, high torque, twin cylinder engine. It is quieter,
more flexible and more fuel efficient than the single cylinder S
Series models.
Manoeuvrable enough for gardens of less than one acre, it should
be preferred for gardens of two acres or more. There are two models,
varying only in the size of the cutter deck. |
ENGINE:
16hp, Twin Cylinder
Briggs & Stratton Intek engine, with Overhead Valves, Pressure
Lubrication and Electric Start.
CUTTER: 91cm (36") Triple Blade, rear discharge.
TRANSMISSION: Hydrostatic speed control, through forward
and reverse footpedals on the right hand running board.
|
ENGINE:

Valves, Pressure Lubrication and Electric Start.
CUTTER: 91cm (42") Triple Blade, rear discharge.
TRANSMISSION: Hydrostatic speed control, through forward
and reverse footpedals on the right hand running board. |
T1800
If your garden is very big or if the grass
you have to cut is very tough, you should opt for this more powerful
model. Like the T1600 it has a smooth running, high torque, twin
cylinder Intek engine. It's quietness and flexibility are great
advantages, as is the greater fuel efficiency. |
T2000
This is the most powerful Westwood and has the biggest cutter deck.
It is the model to choose if you have a very large garden, from
2 to 5 acres. In smaller gardens, the greater overlap of the 48"
cutter gives flexibility when cutting up to and over the edges of
herbaceous borders. |
ENGINE:
18hp, Twin Cylinder
Briggs & Stratton Intek engine, with Overhead Valves, Pressure
Lubrication and Electric Start.
CUTTER: 107cm (42") Triple Blade, rear discharge.
TRANSMISSION: Hydrostatic speed control, through forward
and reverse footpedals on the right hand running board.

20hp, Twin Cylinder Briggs & Stratton Intek engine, with Overhead
Valves, Pressure Lubrication and Electric Start.
